Lecturer from the department held a meeting with prospective students as part of the “GeoAcademy” project

On October 31, 2026, as part of the “GeoAcademy” project of the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation, and Tourism at V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held another meeting for school pupils and prospective applicants.

The speaker for this session was Daria VENHRYN, a Senior Lecturer at K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies. She delivered an insightful lecture titled “Sustainable Development Goals for Everyone”.

During the meeting, participants explored current global challenges, learned about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and discussed how geographical knowledge helps us better understand the contemporary world and find solutions to its problems.

A highlight of the event was its relaxed, interactive atmosphere, enhanced by topics inspired by Halloween and the magical world of Harry Potter. This sense of magic, mystery, and adventure made exploring complex global issues even more engaging. Participants took part in a themed board game, completed interactive tasks, and reinforced what they had learned through play.

In addition to gaining new knowledge and enjoying a positive experience, the attendees received useful study materials for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT), which will prove valuable for their future university entrance exams.

We thank Daria for her substantive lecture, creative approach, and ability to turn learning into an exciting adventure! Thank you to all the participants for their active involvement, curiosity, and genuine interest in geography.

    See you again at GeoAcademy!
