On June 9, 2026, an expanded meeting of the K. Niemets Department of Human Geography and Regional Studies was held on the preliminary examination of theses by PhD students of the ESP “Geography”:

1. Daria Venhryn “Human-Geographical Research of Urbanized Spaces of Ukraine” (scientific supervisor – D.Sc. in Geography, Professor Liudmyla Niemets)

2. Kostiantyn Maliarenko ” Human-Geographical Research of the Economic Potential of the Region” (scientific supervisor – D.Sc. in Geography, Professor Kateryna Sehida)

PhD students, lecturers and scientists of the department, the Faculty of Geology, Geography, Recreation and Tourism and the Educational and Research Institute of Ecology, Green Energy and Sustainable Development attended the meeting. The PhD students’ presentations aroused interest among those present and a lively discussion. As a result of the discussion, the theses research were evaluated positively. They received conclusions on the scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance of the results, and recommended for defense in one-time specialized councils.

До засідання долучилися аспіранти, викладачі та науковці кафедри, факультету геології, географії, рекреації і туризму та ННІ екології, зеленої енергетики та сталого розвитку. Доповіді аспірантів викликали зацікавленість серед присутніх та жваву дискусію. За підсумком обговорення дисертаційні дослідження були оцінені позитивно та були оцінені позитивно, отримали  висновки про наукову новизну, теоретичне та практичне значення результатів  дисертації, рекомендовані до захисту у разових спеціалізованих радах.
