Postgraduate studies (for training of doctors of philosophy) by specialties
106 Geography ONP “Geography”
Training is carried out by state order (full time studies) (4 years) and on a contract basis (part-time studies) (4 years).
Those wishing to enter postgraduate studies must discuss their candidacy in advance at an interview with the future scientific supervisor and head of the department, based on the results of which a place for study in postgraduate studies is ordered.
Applicants for studies for a doctorate degree at the University are accepted on the basis of NRK7 (master’s degree or specialist’s educational and qualification level).
Applicants for postgraduate studies submit an application to the admissions committee either in person in paper form, or send a scanned copy of it with a qualified electronic signature by e-mail. In the application, applicants indicate a competitive offer indicating the specialty, faculty, intended supervisor and form of education.
When submitting an application in paper form, the applicant personally presents the originals:
a copy of a document (one of the documents) that certifies the person, as provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On the Unified State Demographic Register and Documents Confirming Citizenship of Ukraine, Certifying a Person or His Special Status”;
a copy of a state-issued document about the previously obtained educational (educational and qualification) level, on the basis of which admission is made (master’s or specialist’s diploma), and a copy of the supplement to it;
a copy of a military registration document (for those liable for military service – a military ID or temporary certificate, for conscripts – a certificate of registration at the conscription stations);
a copy of a document containing the registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card (except for persons who, due to their religious beliefs, refused to accept the registration number of the taxpayer’s registration card and have a note to this effect in their passport);
four color photographs measuring 3 x 4 cm;
a personal personnel record sheet; a list of published scientific works (if available);
a research proposal.
A research proposal is a scientific text of up to 5 pages prepared by an applicant for postgraduate study, which justifies the topic of the future dissertation research, its relevance, the state of development in domestic and foreign science; possible ways to solve the tasks set, etc. The requirements for research proposals are formed by faculties/institutes in accordance with the characteristics of each specialty.
